Weekly military news roundup covering U.S.-Iran tensions with naval blockade, House Democrats introducing impeachment articles against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, proposed military pay raise of up to 7% for junior enlisted troops E-5 and below, and the surprising story of Bambi's voice actor becoming a decorated Marine drill instructor.

Here's what's on the radar in military life this week. The U.S. is warning Iran to agree to a deal or face renewed military action. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says forces are locked and loaded. A U.S. naval blockade is already in place and could expand globally. President Trump said Thursday Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. Meanwhile, at a congressional hearing, the White House declined to estimate the cost of the war with Iran thus far. Bottom line, there's a lot going on and tensions remain high across the region. House Democrats have introduced articles of impeachment against Pete Hegseth, citing allegations of abuse of power, mishandling classified information, and unauthorized military action tied to Iran. The resolution includes six articles and is unlikely to advance in Congress. However, it does signal growing scrutiny over how military force is authorized at the highest levels. A proposed military pay raise could boost junior enlisted troops E-5 and below by up to 7%. Higher ranks would see smaller increases as part of a tiered approach aimed at improving recruiting and retention. This is all tied to a broader $1.5 trillion defense budget and does still need congressional approval. If passed, changes would take effect in 2027. And over on Veteran Life, the voice of Bambi became a Marine, like actual drill instructor combat decorated Marine. Donnie Dunnigan went from Thumper's bestie in the 1942 Disney film to training recruits. And he kept it a secret for years because no one wants to be called Major Bambi. That's your briefing. Make sure you follow along so you never miss what's on the radar.
