Welcome to Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center 29 Palms, the Marine Corps' largest training installation and a unique, tight-knit community where you'll spend an unforgettable few years. Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center 29 Palms is located in the Mojave Desert, right on the doorstep of beautiful Joshua Tree National Park. The base covers an expansive 1,100 square miles, providing ample space for large-scale training operations. Supporting those operations are about 12,500 active-duty Marines, plus their families and civilian workers across the installation. Nearby desert communities include 29 Palms, Joshua Tree, and Yoka Valley. If you're just arriving on orders, head through the main gate on Adobe Road and get checked in with your gaining command. If you have civilian visitors coming to see you or if you need to get your vehicle registered, make sure to stop by the Visitor Control Center. Once checked in, the Military Housing Division can help you find a new home, and the Commissary and Base Exchange have everything you need to get settled. If you're off-duty, you'll find a lot to do in the local area. Take advantage of great on-base recreational facilities that you won't find at many other installations, like the Wood Hobby Shop, the Splash Park, and the Indoor Playground. Outside the gates, Joshua Tree National Park has miles of trails to explore, and the local communities are full of unique restaurants and shops you'll love. If you're looking for a bit more excitement, Palm Springs and Las Vegas are both within a reasonable driving distance. Welcome to your new home in the desert and to the 29 Palms community.
