DID JOE BIDEN SERVE IN THE MILITARY?
The answer is no, Joe Biden is not a Veteran as he never served in the military. Furthermore, even though President Biden is the Commander-in-Chief, the leader of the American Armed Forces, he will not be considered a Veteran after serving his term(s) in the White House. While the President of the United States has many different responsibilities and duties, including being in charge of the greatest military force in the history of mankind, previous military experience isn’t a requirement. The majority of U.S. Presidents have served our country before becoming POTUS; however, it’s not a requirement, and leading the nation requires knowledge and skills well beyond just the military.
Recent Presidents Who Didn’t Serve in the Military
While Joe Biden didn’t serve in the military, an overview of Presidents in recent years reveals many have not been Veterans before stepping into the Oval Office. If you take out the exception of President George W. Bush, who did serve in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War, most recent presidents have not served. This includes Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and, of course, President Biden. So, while Biden isn’t a Veteran, many others who have made their place in history as POTUS recently aren’t either.

Does Joe Biden Have Asthma?
Yes, it seems that Joe Biden’s allergies and asthma have been well-documented medical issues that the President has had to deal with.Biden’s military service has come into question throughout his political career and continues to be a point of debate among many regardless of their political spectrum.Rumors are stating that President Biden dodged the draft for the Vietnam War, however, this is not true.Biden did receive deferments based on his status as a student at the time, not due to any asthma-related issues. However, we now know that while President Biden received five student draft deferments, he also received a medical exemption during the Vietnam War.Therefore, while first prevented from serving due to his educational pursuits, ultimately, Biden was unable to serve due to asthma.Whether or not he still suffers from the chronic lung disease is a bit less known; however, we do know that he has suffered from lingering effects of COVID-19 in the past, causing coughing and congestion.
Is Hunter Biden a Veteran?
Hunter Biden applied to serve with the Navy Reserve and ultimately accepted. However, it didn’t last long as he was discharged administratively due to a failed drug test, which detected cocaine in his system. It would be irresponsible to speculate the exact reason for this and much of the potential substance abuse issues with Hunter have already been widely spread in the media and other public forums. What we do know is that Hunter Biden is not a Veteran and has hopefully put his past behind him in the pursuit of a better future, regardless of what health issues he may or may not have had to overcome.Suggested read:3 Stories of Presidents Who Served in the MilitarySources:Joe Biden’s Allergies and Asthma (A summary), Alan Khadavi, MD.
