Fame, fortune, and anything else imaginable in a rock’ n’ roll career were at the disposal of Tom DeLonge. As a certified pop punk icon, Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge is known across the globe for his musical ventures. But in 2015, he gave it all up. No, not the time he left to form Angels & Airwaves. We’re talking about his most recent departure from the pop-punk trio to focus on his non-musical interests. For many, this would likely fall within the realm of various common hobbies, but for Tom, the focus would be out of this world… no, really. The original Blink-182 singer is a leading voice for the U.S. Army on UFOs, UAPs, and aliens. Read next:These 10 Celebrities Have Been Impacted By the New Russia Sanctions

What Does Tom DeLonge Do Now?

Music, fashion, and design are all ventures that have DeLonge’s attention these days, but in saying that, it feels like we’re burying the lede. Tom DeLonge tracks aliens. You can’t call him "Tom DeLonge alien hunter" just yet, but he's close enough. Since 2017, his most out-of-this-world venture yet has been focused on verifying UFO sightings, tracking aliens, and working to assist the U.S. government in engineering itself after potential alien technology.

Why Did Tom DeLonge Leave Blink-182?

Tom’s first departure was due to a difference in priority. Regardless of where you stand, it was a bit ugly and pitted the band members against each other, ultimately leading DeLonge to exit and form Angels & Airwaves. But time heals all wounds, and things would eventually become good again. The trio would reconcile and play many reunion shows. Sadly for the fans, it didn’t last. This time, however, despite the whispers of scheduling conflicts and more drama, Tom DeLonge’s alien pursuits would become the focus of his life. After feeling he had accomplished what he needed to with Blink-182, Tom DeLonge started working on his new passion project: To the Stars. Oh, and to whom it may concern, you can rest your worries. Tom DeLonge revealed he and Blink-182's Mark Hoppus have "completely repaired" their friendship since moving on from the band.

To the Stars... Academy of Arts & Sciences

When he left, Tom DeLonge said that he wanted to change the world. This would come to life through a multi-faceted venture known as To the Stars… Academy of Arts & Sciences. Known as TTSA or just "To the Stars" for short, the company was founded by DeLonge, Jim Semivan, previously in the CIA, and parapsychologist and engineer Harold E. Puthoff. The company works on various projects ranging from science fiction books rooted in true events and real-life science to UFO data collection and development in aerospace. Their ventures of developing in the aerospace industry are very interesting in terms of the military. Known as the ADAM Research Project, the group works on engineering projects that use "extraterrestrial" metal for military use. Combined with the VAULT (Virtual Analytics UAP Learning Tool) project, which works to authenticate UFO and UAP incidents reported by the public, it’s easy to see why the government has a heightened interest in To the Stars. Particularly after the Pentagon released hundreds of accounts dealing with UAPs and stated that some haven’t been released due to national security, To the Stars is in a unique position to assist the U.S. government.

Will Tom DeLonge Return To Blink?

Never say never. There may come a time when pouring his life into the unexplainable doesn’t suit his lifestyle anymore. He’s also done it before. What we do know for now is that the band Box Car Racer is writing, Matt Skiba continues to make his impact among a storied carrier in pop punk as DeLonge’s replacement, and the U.S. military is gaining valuable insight about UFOs. Discovering the mysteries of our galaxies, a frontier that continues to become more accessible, is important. For now, Tom DeLonge is on the adventure of a lifetime and, oddly enough, is helping improve the Army while searching for great unknowns.
