Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, raised concerns at the media conference about the Pentagon budget.

Hegseth speaks of what identified programs need to be cut to give way to Donald Trump's priorities of giving more than 50 billion dollars as an investment in the military services.

Hegseth hopes to redirect the budget to the Pentagon as he believes it is best to focus on making the military more powerful.

$50 Billion Benefits to Military Services

The deputy secretary of defense, Robert Salesses, states that "the time of preparation is over" and "excessive bureaucracy will be stopped."

The next budget to be targeted would be for programs focused on climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Cutting the budget from such programs would open a great opportunity for the military services budget.

"In achieving the priorities of the president is a great guide in securing the borders of America, ending the government that runs the unfairness of DEI programs and preferencing and builds a (Gold) Dome of America," Salesses added.

Eight percent of the military budget comes from the 50 billion dollars. It is not yet clear which part of the Pentagon's DEI and climate change programs would be used to pursue the best and highest-quality care in the military industry.

Some Military Services Are Being Upgraded

The now-called Golden Domes aim to be a multilayered air defense that can shoot incoming missiles from space. This is Trump's plan to maximize the full potential of the U.S. air defense.

Lawmakers are pointing to the increase of submarines, enhancing their ability to cope with a competitive edge over the Chinese military.

According to Republican Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, "the U.S. undersea warfare is one of the few areas in which its power is being retained compared to the Chinese military."

Although a huge budget is allotted to the military services, the president's and the military defense representative's planning will be present in the coming years, providing innovation and further advancement in military offense and defense.

Programs to Remove for Budget Cutting

The number of programs that are highly anticipated to be cut includes the diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and the U.S. climate change programs.

Trump believes that cutting the budget for the DEI is a great way to transfer it to more of his priorities, which are the military services.

However, due to the inconsistent and wasteful government that leads the DEI programs, these programs might come to an end.

On the other hand, the budget cut from the climate change programs will be used to buy alternate fuels for aircraft or strengthen the aircraft's foundation, making it resistant to extreme weather, such as hurricanes.

Cutting the budget from these programs is, for sure, the fundamental action that the government will take to allow the expansion of the military services.

Still, a letter to House Armed Services Chair Mike D. Rogers (R-AL) shows The Pentagon is already planning to provide cuts to military spending when requesting funding for FY26. Sure, DEI is out, but the cuts may also involve inefficient spending that leadership deems unimportant to our national defense.

"We are committed to eliminating waste, reforming our acquisition processes, and ensuring each dollar within the defense budget is spent wisely. We have a unique opportunity at this time to make quantifiable progress toward these goals," wrote Rogers and Adam Smith (D-WA).

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is looking to funnel money from such ineffective programs and is looking for recommendations to improve effective spending for the next five Fiscal Years.

Budget Expectations in the Coming Years

The military defense would significantly increase to its full extent, protecting Americans from unforeseen attacks, and U.S. warcraft would be drastically more powerful. Considering these changes in the future, the U.S. will be the number one country with the best military defense system.

Plans to enhance the U.S. offense can pose a great threat to opposing countries, leaving their rivals on hold with such a great offense of American Soldiers. The military budget will also include making the military personnel stronger and better.

With his plans, Trump's commitment to making America great again is his top priority. He wants to make America the most feared country when it comes to military offense and defense.

In doing so, there are notable exceptions even as the Trump administration works on the next several Fiscal Years. This includes military actions at the U.S.-Mexico border, Virginia-class attack submarines, missile defense, much-needed munitions, drones, and other exceptions deemed necessary for a strong national defense.
