How Did Hitler Die?

Hitler dying was a giant victory for the Allied Forces who had already subdued much of the Nazi forces throughout Europe and the rest of the world. But if you want to kill a snake, you need to cut off the head, so confirming Hitler’s death was important for the Allies. Shortly after his birthday, Hitler would be inside a bunker under the Reich Chancellery building along with the members of his staff that had remained, as well as his mistress-turned-wife Eva Braun. As the leader of the Nazi regime was preparing to eat lunch, word reached the bunker that fellow dictator Benito Mussolini and his mistress had been killed only a couple of days before. Now, the aftermath of Mussolini’s death was extreme. He and his mistress were violated, humiliated, and desecrated across the streets of Milan, Italy, only after they were shot and smashed by the Italian partisans, a guerilla force who opposed Fascism and assisted the Allies during World War II. With the fall of Fascism in Italy and the Nazis taking heavy losses, the inevitable had become clear, and the death of Adolf Hitler was now imminent. More like this: Battle of Midway: 80 Years Since We Turned the Tide of WWII Hitler could think of no such thing happening to him, nor his mistress, and attempted to die in dignity, a gross way to put things for someone who exuded no dignity nor deserved any. Nevertheless, after a modest meal, a round of handshakes, and a wedding to Eva, both would die. The man who killed Adolf Hitler was none other than Hitler himself. Both he and Eva would commit suicide by taking cyanide pills.

Wait… Then Who Is the Man Who Shot Hitler?

This isn’t as tricky as it might appear. Yes, Hitler took his own life with a cyanide pill, but just to be sure of it, he would also shoot himself in the head. Officially, these are the facts that are presented and taught, but many people wonder if there's more to the story, especially because after these events, Hitler was reported to have his body burned in the Chancellery garden before having the entire area bombarded by the Soviet Union. What isn’t a conspiracy is that towards the end of the war, and soon thereafter, South America became a Nazi haven for many who were looking to escape trials due to war crimes and other crimes against humanity. Many people had blood on their hands for their part in the Holocaust and fled Europe to protect themselves and their families from repercussions. Even the American government helped shelter Nazis whom they deemed helpful for the advancement of science, including several prominent names at the time. So, although there is no direct evidence that Hitler escaped Berlin for the warmer temperatures of South America, it does make one wonder what really happened all those years ago.

Hitler’s Killer, Famous for All the Wrong Reasons

Was Hitler killed in Germany? The credible evidence all points to yes. The man who killed Hitler should live in infamy as a hero to anyone who believes in what is right, but sadly that same man is the coward who invoked the worst in man through fear, hatred, and abuse of power. The good news is that the Nazi’s reign of terror across the world came to an end thanks to the Allied Forces. World War II is a constant reminder of the kind of hatred that we as humans must never allow to emerge again, today or in the future.
