WHERE IS THE AIR FORCE ONE CAST NOW?
The 1997 action-thriller Air Force One pits the United States against Russia when the President’s aircraft is hijacked by a group of Russian terrorists. It’s a fun ride that lasts just over 2 hours and provides plenty of star power with Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Glenn Close, William H. Macy, and many others. But what is the Air Force One cast up to these days? While they are thankfully not dealing with an international terror plot and hostage exchange, there are plenty of projects in which you’ve likely seen this stunning ensemble. Catching Up With the Air Force One Cast
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FItgZOuaPVY For the most part, the Air Force One cast has been quite busy over the years, showing up in some of our favorite shows and films. Here’s what everyone’s been doing since that fateful plane ride:
Harrison Ford (President James Marshall)
It’s almost an insult to rattle off the projects Harrison Ford has been a part of since playing President Marshall. Of course, we know him as Indiana Jones, Han Solo, and several other roles, but he has also been working on helping various environmental causes, as well as taking part in projects involving archaeology.
Gary Oldman (Egor Korshunov)
Oldman was part of the cast of Air Force One as the main villain but has been up to various other projects since. Most notably, you’ll probably recognize him helping the good guys this go-round as Commissioner Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Also an advocate of Alcoholics Anonymous, Oldman is an inspiration to all of those walking a life of sobriety.
Glenn Close (Vice President Kathryn Bennett)
Several Academy Award nominations would be a peak for many, but Close has gone on to also win two Primetime Emmys and three Golden Globes. Her acting prowess is well known. From appearing again as Cruella de Vil a year after being a part of the Air Force One cast to several other films and plays afterward, and even advocating for mental health and the LGBT community, Close continues to add to her already impressive legacy.
William H. Macy (Major Norman Caldwell)
Several great opportunities came before and after joining the Air Force One cast for William H. Macy, as he would continue his impressive acting career to much acclaim. But it was his 11-season run as the star of Shameless that would provide him with three Screen Actors Guild Awards and several prestigious nominations.
Paul Guilfoyle (White House Chief Of Staff Lloyd Shepherd)
There have been several projects, many as recent as 2022, that Guilfoyle has found himself a part of. Most notably, he was still working to protect the U.S. as a part of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, in which he played Captain James "Jim" Brass for 14 seasons. He’d even return for two special episodes of CSI: Vegas to reprise his role on the force.
Wendy Crewson (First Lady Grace Marshall)
Reprising her role to play throughout The Santa Clause trilogy is likely where you’ve seen Crewson since her time on Air Force One, but there are several other examples throughout the television world. This includes work in Canada and the U.S. which has helped her continue an impressive career that carries on to this day.
Xander Berkeley (Secret Service Special Agent Gibbs)
Xander Berkeley has been acting on the big and little screens since 1981. You can find him on recent episodes of several action/dramas including MacGyver, Bull, FBI: Most Wanted, and The Republic of Sarah. He even has a role in an upcoming biopic about a particularly controversial U.S. president known for his own acting chops.
Liesel Matthews (First Daughter Alice Marshall)
These days, you won’t hear about Liesel Matthews acting. Since playing the first daughter, Matthews only went on to play in one more role as a part of the 2000 film Blast. Sadly, this also means you won’t have anything new to look forward to, but she continues to make a name for herself as an inspiration through various philanthropic efforts.
