Veterans Day Events You Must Attend
1. Alabama
Where? Canal at Monroe St. in Mobile
When? 10:00 A.M. November 11th, 2024
Alabama is the birthplace of Veterans Day, making it a great place to catch a variety of Veterans Day events, including the 2024 Mobile Bay Veterans Day parade. You can view the parade route here.
2. Arizona
Where? Central Avenue, Phoenix
When? 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. November 11th, 2024
Join “Honoring America’s Veterans” at the parade in Phoenix with more than 45,000 spectators to commemorate the signing of the Peace Treaty that ended World War and our nation’s heroes.
This year, the celebrity Grand Marshal is Arizona Diamondback legend Luis Gonzalez. The Veterans Day event begins on Montebello Street and Central Avenue before heading east on Camelback. From there, the route heads south on 7th Street, before ending at Indian School Road.
3. Arkansas
Where? Chaffee Crossing Historic District 7313 Terry St Fort Smith, AR 72916
When? 10:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. November 9th, 2024
U.S. Senator John Boozman has declared this parade as the 2024 Regional Veterans Day Parade & Celebration as the largest Arkansas has ever seen! With floats, motorcycles, tractors, cars, runners, walkers, cyclists, and hundreds of Veterans - you can see it all! Tune in for the parade, medal ceremony, food trucks, and more.
4. Florida
Where? Robinson Street and Orange Avenue in Orlando
When? 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. November 9th, 2024
The theme of the 2024 Veterans Day Parade in Orlando is "A Legacy of Loyalty and Service,” in what is the 25th anniversary of the event.
5. Maryland
Where? Baltimore City
When? 12:00 P.M. November 9th, 2024
The 2024 Baltimore City Veterans Day Parade is an event unlike any other. Featuring several notable military communities, everyone is invited to head out to the Veterans Day event with the parade stepping off of Washington Monument at Charles Street and Centre Street.
6. New York
Where? 26th Street and Fifth Avenue, New York City
When? 12:30 A.M. November 11, 2024
For the 105th, New York is set to hold what has become the largest Veterans Day event in the nation in NYC. New York City welcomes you with more than 20,000 marchers and 300 marching and vehicle units, that are bringing the 2024 NYC Veterans Day Parade to life.
Organized by the United War Veterans Council (UWVC), get to Madison Square Park early, at 10:55 A.M., for the wreath-laying ceremony to begin the celebration.
7. Tennessee
Where? Gay St., Knoxville
When? 10:40 A.M. November 11, 2024
Knoxville’s 99th Veteran's Day Parade is set to head down Gay St. Hosted by the American Legion Post 2, this free event is a spectacle you don’t want to miss!
8. Texas
Where? Dallas and Bagby
When? 10:00 A.M. (speech); 11:30 A.M. (parade), November 11th, 2024
November 11, 2024 is the annual Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration. It begins with a keynote speech from Grand Marshall Retired Vice Admiral James W. Crawford III, before a moment of silence and finally, the American Heroes Parade filled with organizations, marchers, bands, ROTC, and more!
9. Washington State
Where? Main St., Auburn, Washington
When? 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. November 9th, 2024
Auburn's 59th Annual Veterans Parade is set to take over Main Street. Featuring over 200 units and nearly 5,000 participants, parade-goers can expect honor guards, over 20 marching bands, plenty of military vehicles, and a strong Veteran presence.
Keep in mind the parade is just part of the observation. Beginning with breakfast at 7:00 A.M. and continuing throughout the day, plan ahead as many events are being hosted to honor Veterans.
10. Washington D.C.
Where? Arlington National Cemetery
When? November 11th, 2024
It should come as no surprise that there are plenty of Veterans Day events being celebrated throughout D.C. surrounding the holiday.
For example, at Arlington National Cemetery, official participants can visit the the National Veterans Day Observance Ceremony, where spectators are allowed for the official wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns—on a first come first serve basis and spots are limited.
11. Missouri
Where? Downtown Branson
When? 11:00 A.M. November 11th, 2024
The 92nd Branson Veterans Day Parade is set to roll downtown, however, it doesn’t really matter where you are in Missouri, you’re going to find plenty of celebrations available.
