How to Access Your MHS GENESIS Patient Portal Account with myAuth
Military healthcare beneficiaries' login process for the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal changed on September 23, 2026. According to TRICARE Communications, the goal is modernization,
“Throughout 2026, the online platforms that support your TRICARE benefit are switching from DS Logon to myAuth. myAuth is a simpler, more streamlined login authentication application.”
The Defense Health Agency moved the portal from DS Logon to myAuth, giving beneficiaries a new authentication process when accessing their military health information. The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal itself remains the same secure place to access health information and manage appointments.
Here’s what users should know about the transition and what to do if they have trouble accessing the portal.
What Changed With the MHS GENESIS Login?
The switch to myAuth changes how beneficiaries verify their identity when they access the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. Users will encounter a few differences depending on how they normally sign in.
myAuth supports several ways to verify your identity, including a Common Access Card (CAC), a username and password with multifactor authentication, and Okta Verify.
The rollout also brings MHS GENESIS in line with other military systems that are moving to the same authentication service. Those who already access platforms such as milConnect may recognize myAuth when they sign in to MHS GENESIS.
The change does not mean beneficiaries need to use a different healthcare portal. MHS GENESIS remains the system they use to access and manage their military healthcare information online.
What Existing MHS GENESIS Users Should Know
Existing users who previously signed in to the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal through DS Logon will now use myAuth to access the portal. The new login page provides instructions for setting up myAuth, and existing DS Logon credentials can be used as part of that process.
For people who have been using DS Logon for years, the change may take some getting used to. The myAuth sign-in page and authentication steps may look different from the previous login experience.
"The switch to myAuth means a simpler, more secure experience in MHS GENESIS Patient Portal,” TRICARE stated.
Support Is Available If You Can't Log In
A login problem does not always mean there is a problem with MHS GENESIS itself. The issue could be with your myAuth account or with the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, and thankfully, each has a different support resource.
The Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) manages myAuth and DS Logon. Users who are having trouble with their myAuth account or authentication should start with the myAuth FAQs and support resources before contacting DMDC Support at 800-368-3665. DHA and TRICARE identify DMDC as the point of contact for these login systems.
The Military Health System handles issues with the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal separately. The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal FAQ also provides information on getting help with portal access and other technical problems. Help is always available when users have trouble logging in or making the transition.
Watch for Phishing During the Login Change
A new login system can make it easier for a fraudulent message to look legitimate. Beneficiaries may receive emails or other messages mentioning MHS GENESIS or myAuth, so it is important to verify where those messages came from before clicking a link or sharing account information.
DHA warns that TRICARE and its contractors will not contact beneficiaries asking for private information such as a date of birth, Social Security number, username, or password.
The agency recommends checking the source of a message and its web address before providing information. Beneficiaries should also avoid relying on unexpected links to reach a login page. When in doubt, they can navigate directly to an official Military Health System or TRICARE website and access the appropriate portal from there.
Anyone who believes they have shared personal or account information with a fraudulent source should follow DHA's guidance, including changing the affected password and reporting the incident.
Wider Rollout Across Military Systems
The September 23rd transition is also part of a wider rollout of myAuth across military systems. TRICARE says platforms that support it benefits are moving away from DS Logon throughout the year. Some platforms already transitioned early this year, such as milConnect and ID Card Office Online.
The rollout means that beneficiaries may still see other military systems transition to myAuth later this year.
