On Saturday January 20th 2024, Iran, Israel and Pakistan launched several airstrikes killing multiple people and harming many others. Of these airstrikes, five of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, and an unknown number of Syrian troops, were killed after an Israeli airstrike. Why Did the Israeli Airstrike on Iran Happen?

Saturday afternoon, rescue teams scrambled to remove people from underneath the flattened building. Teams were even bringing in cranes to remove concrete slabs that were too heavy for human crews to lift.The multistory unit was used to house Iranian advisors who were helping the government. This was probably the main cause for the Iran airstrike. A number of Syrian troops were killed, as well as the leader of the elite forces information unit. After the Israeli airstrike, Iran has vowed to complete revenge attacks.The airstrike in Iran is not the only airstrike happening between countries in the Middle East. Pakistan and Iran Relations

Iran and Pakistan have gone head to head with militant attacks in regard to politics. Leaving many to wonder, are Iran and Pakistan at war? This question is increasingly relevant after the Israeli airstrike. On Tuesday, Iran publicly celebrated their attack on Pakistan in the media. According to Pakistani officials, Iran did coordinate the military strikes.The ministry stated that they have evidence of large scale terrorist activity and will defend its national security against all threats. Pakistan also mentioned their use of drones, rockets, and missile fired jets.Later on Thursday, Iran planned an annual air defense drill from Port of Chabahar, which is on the border near Pakistan and South of the country near Iraq. The countries share a 560 mile border, and this is where smuggling commonly occurs.

Who Is Iran's Target In Pakistan?

The Israeli airstrike was to the Pakistani border, aiming at the Jaish al-Adl Sunni group. Thus, this strike has created even more turmoil between the two countries that are already upset by Israel's war on Hamas.Jaish al-Adl means the army of justice. Moreover, the group is primarily former Jundallah group members. The goal of the Jaish al-Adl group is to gain independence for Sistan and Baluchistan provinces which are in southwest Iran.

Israeli Airstrike Repercussions Currently Unknown

Finally, the two sets of Israeli airstrikes last week will potentially start a lot of trouble between these countries. If you are concerned with the United States being part of this turmoil, you can rest assured we are not gaining entry at this time. Furthermore, the US military informed citizens that they see no reason to press any further into the Israeli airstrike, although we are not on ally terms with Iran. As of right now, Pakistan serves as Iran's protecting power in the United States and Switzerland serves as the United States protecting power in Iran.
