ICE SPICE IS THE REAL REASON MARINES DEFEND AMERICA

By bblouin
Ice Spice has captured American's hearts and now she has won over the approval of U.S. Marines.

Lady Liberty isn’t the only NYC icon inspiring the U.S. Marine Corps. She's the Winner of Best New Artist at the VMAs, has starred with Ben Affleck to promote Dunkin’ Donuts, and was a part of the Barbie soundtrack. You may not know that her real name is Isis Naija Gaston but if you are somehow still sleeping on Ice Spice, it’s time to wake up. “Munch (Feelin’ U)” became an instant New York anthem, propelling Ice Spice further up the charts. The Ice Spice memes and updates keep this rising female artist fresh online and in the game on heavy rotation. But what does she have to do with the U.S. Marine Corps? Well, a lot actually. You see, a particular Ice Spice meme brought her to the center of attention causing Devil Dogs around the world to pledge their dedication to defend her from enemies far and wide. Who is Ice Spice?

If you’re not aware of one of hip-hop’s latest sensations, here’s how you can get caught up on Ice Spice, the muse of the U.S. Marines:

  • The name comes from a Finsta she started at 14.
  • While she had been rapping for a minute or two, it was “Munch (Feelin’ U)” that put her on the map.
  • The “People’s Princess” is the epitome of a Gen Z star. You can find her in memes, trending in TikTok sounds, and there is absolutely no shortage of her on hip-hop-related social pages.
  • Her iconic red hair, dance moves, summer hit with Nicki Minaj, “Barbie World,” and collaborations with RiotUSA, PinkPantheress, and Taylor Swift show that she is building a diverse audience.

Hailing from the Bronx, New York, Ice Spice isn’t slowing down anytime soon and neither are the Marines who will defend her honor. Is it an unlikely collaboration? Didn’t we just mention Ice Spice's uncanny diversification? Suggested read: C'mon Military Barbie, Let's Go to War!

Repped From the X to the X

Carrying the torch for New York’s drill scene before expanding into other arenas, Ice Spice used it to trailblaze for other women emcees coming up today. However, it wasn’t just bars putting her on the minds of Marines. Now, one of the most deadly forces on the planet has her back.

On a variety of social media platforms, including X, previously known as Twitter, there has been an ongoing trend. Marines posing with the American flag? Normal. Marines posing with the American flag that has Ice Spice superimposed onto it? The new normal. Frankly, don’t think it’s just the Marines either, because Sailors have been caught paying respect too. As to why this is all happening? Honestly, why is anything going on today in the broader Internet culture? Meanwhile, enjoy it for what it is, turn up “Princess Diana” and rage. However, there is some evidence to suggest that when it comes to the Ice Spice flag itself, this could have started with the Terminal Lance Instagram, a comic strip page devoted to content involving the USMC that posted a picture back in March 2023.

How Old is Ice Spice?

Keeping up with Ice Spice’s birthday is actually quite convenient. Born on January 1, 2000, as of this writing, the Bronx rapper is 23 years old. Therefore, if you ever need to do the math, simply subtract 2000 from whatever year it is. That's it! Now you’ll have Ice Spice’s age. The fact is, at the age we find Ms. Spice, medical advances are doing wonderful things for longevity. Overall, this is good news for everyone, particularly the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the morale of the troops in its employ. Nobody knows how long the memes will last, what her relatively young career has in store, or if we’ll all just jump on the Ice Spice mom trend next week. What we do know, however, is that as long as Ice Spice is around inspiring those serving, the world is a better place because of it.
