FORMER BLACK KNIGHT COLE CHRISTIANSEN COULD WIN THE SUPER BOWL (AGAIN)
Super Bowl LVIII is officially upon us. While there are plenty of storylines to follow, for the military community, Cole Christiansen has to be one of them. The former team captain of the Army Black Knights won a ring in Super Bowl LVII as a member of the practice squad. This time around, Cole Christiansen's Chiefs role has been elevated to that of the active roster. Now, he is looking to get in on the action once again. Cole Christiansen Army Career Delivered on NFL Dreams
Cole Christiansen played four seasons in college as a part of the Black Knights. He would go on to continue his football career after signing with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent. Military service continues to be on the agenda for Cole Christiansen; however, he is able to continue to play football due to signing a waiver giving him permission to do so. For now, he is a part of the Army Reserves and will become active duty after retiring from football. The gifted linebacker was waived by the Chargers, put on the practice squad, and elevated multiple times to active status over the next few years. This was ultimately before being waived on August 30, 2022, by the latest NFL team to move back to LA. This could have been the end of his football career. However, it didn’t take long for Christiansen to find a new home. After a turbulent time in California, the Cole Christiansen-Kansas City Chiefs relationship was born on September 1, 2022. Once again, there was a bit of a yo-yo effect during his time on the practice and active squads. However, the major difference this time is that Cole Christiansen would become a Super Bowl Champion after KC competed against the Philadelphia Eagles. Resigning with Kansas City, Christiansen was a contender yet again. Despite some bumps in the road, the Chiefs are finding themselves with a chance to defend their title. This time, Cole Christiansen is going to get to play.
Overcoming Injury
There isn’t a kid playing football in America, or in the world, who doesn’t dream of playing in the Big Game. It's no wonder that athletes want to play in the year’s biggest game. However, an injury early in the year almost hindered the dreams of Cole Christiansen. No matter how you get a ring, they are beloved and desired. However, there is no denying that nothing quite beats getting on the gridiron and competing for the sport’s greatest prize. In week 4 of the 2023-24 NFL regular season, a nagging hamstring injury threatened to crash Cole Christiansen’s football dreams once more. Cole Christiansen's NFL Career Puts Him in Even Rarer Company
Most people don’t join the American Armed Forces. Far fewer make it to the NFL and even fewer still, ever play in or win a Super Bowl. But Christiansen could join the likes of Chad Hennings, Joe Cardona, and Roger “The Dodger” Staubach as Veterans who have multiple Super Bowl titles. Of the 25,000+ men to ever play in the NFL, not many have conquered the stage while also serving our country. Whether you’re tuning in to love Taylor Swift, hate on the experience, watch the commercials, or root for your team, Cole Christiansen is one to watch.
